SAS Field Trip - Ankeny National Wildlife Refuge

We begin our fall and winter routes by carpooling, including pull-outs in the 10-mile journey around the refuge to observe visiting shorebirds (Long-billed Dowitcher, yellowlegs species, peeps and Dunlin) in wet grassy areas and fields.
Meet at Ankeny Hill Nature Center (AHNC) Parking Lot at 9:00 AM. There are facilities at this location.
Bring water, binoculars, and a snack. Trails can be uneven, so please wear appropriate footwear.
